We woke up for another beautiful sunrise. Michael & I snuck out for an early morning shuffle, although the options in Lake King were not very picturesque. We paid $25 for a powered campsite & there was no power all day. We went for our day trip to wave rock & had to turn over to gas. When we got home I thought I could smell gas. Michael couldn't but later realised that there is a faulty seal on our swap & go gas bottle. That's a buggar. Anyway, I'm sure he'll work it out.
We stopped at Hopetoun because Michael had to do a conference call with the Germans & a customer in Sydney. I bought the kids some hot chips. They were a rip off so topped them up with a loaf of bread. I wasn't going to pay $6.50 for a coffee. To top it off we paid $44.00 for a 9kg gas refill. Yes, refill! I expect to pay more in small towns but that ridiculous. You get a little done with being ripped off & it's usually not great coffee either :-(
Look at my daredevil...she even went down the firemans pole! Who would have thought I'd see that.
A lovely little park in town.
Michael found a campsite about 40kms out of town. The dirt road was very wet but had been freshly graded. We are dirty but arrived safely. The area has been upgraded in May and there is no one else here. The drop toilet is disturbing but we can use ours.
What a gorgeous beach....
Fire pit also available. We can see the water :-) a few days of school catchup & fishing!
