An early morning start for Michael & I. Nan & pop have said if we go early they'll watch in case the kids wake. I'm going to miss our walks when we're home again :-(
This is the welcome sign near the Super Pit. I wasn't aware that Boulder was the home of the super pit. It's actually called Boulder-Kalgoorlie??
Candy floss clouds in the Main Street of Boulder. It's amazing how close the super pit is to town. Such a big town. Mum & dad said it's grown so much since they were here 9 years ago. It's much bigger than I expected. I even paid 35c to use a public toilet. The 2011 census showed a population of 31,000 people. WOW!!! The median age of the population was 31 years of age. Indigenous & Torres Straight Islanders made up 6.8% of the population.
We had planned to check out the super pit tour but at $330 for our family, I think we'll just visit the lookout. A very interesting place, but definately not my new home.
I lived in Boulder for a year when I was 12. I was glad to return to Sydney.
