Happy birthday Tenae

My big girl is 11. Time flies. She is growing up soooo much this trip. She is maturing into a delightful young lady...so, so proud!
What a wake up! 20 balloons at 7.30am. Tenae says..."that's not even a time in my world". Wake up...we have whales to find.
Head of Bight whale observation area. So fabulously beautiful. The four whales we saw were just a bonus. The whales are a little slow arriving so the rate was still the off peak rate of $14.00 per family.
After whale watching we earned our cake. The caretaker was so lovely that he said we could use their eating area for cake. Charlotte used her pocket money to adopt a new friend. Her name is Lola & she's a southern right whale :-)

Nullabor Roadhouse. The boys next golf hole. They were advised to use fluro balls to make them easier to find. Apparently, the crows love them. They took both balls. We had to stand guard with rocks to pelt at crows.

Lookout #1 along the Nullabor. We had people tell us it was a boring stretch of road. I've got to say, this does not look boring to me :-)

We had been told to stop at the old Nullabor homestead. It's about 15km off the main road. It's not well sign written & I don't think it's frequented very often. It took about an hour to travel 15kms. It was so worth it.

This homestead was inhabited from 1938 to 1988 and was located on the original East West road...a dirt road. I can't even imagine how slow travel would have been on this road.

Beautiful old fireplace.

We had some neighbours arrive. We had a nice campfire going so we invited them for a visit. They were lovely. Hermann & Betty were from Victoria and headed home. It was a lovely night. I'm coming down with a cold so off to bed early for me. We set our alarm for a run but kids woke before alarm. I thought this was strange & then realised that my phone had switched to WA time already :-( buggar!!!
