Wyndham & surrounds

Now this is a backdrop I've never run against...
Just me & the East Kimberley's (& luckily no snakes). I had my phone ready in case Annie :-)
An old graveyard I found. Most are from early settlers who died because of the extreme conditions. I assume a lot would have been from the United Kingdom & the heat would have been something they'd never before experienced. It's warm now & it's winter.
After a busy morning of school we thought we deserved coffee. The kids definately deserved a milkshake...a rare treat!
This was the best coffee we've had in months!
A visit to the port. It was very tidal & moving quickly. No swimming from here on in unless it's in a pool...crocodiles all about.
I am very taken by this landscape. It looks like a painted backdrop.
Today we saw our first water lillies....and salt water crocodiles. They weren't too close but in this small lagoon we saw six.
To avoid the corrugated road on the way home we followed the "dry season track"...through the lake. You can't do this everywhere :-)
The prison Boab. It was used to imprison naughty people, temporarily, before traditional prisons were built. It was huge!

Home for a swim & a very early dinner. We were so busy adventuring that we missed lunch.

Five Rivers Lookout for sunset...life is grand :-)
