What a fabulous little town. Michael & I headed out for a nice walk this morning. Every car or person that walked by had a wave & a g'day....just the way life used to be :-)
Winton's version of Mater! Too funny!
We took a look around town. We saw the open air cinema & even found some Boulder opal at an opal shop. Michael bought me a new pendant. The colours are incredible. The lovely gentleman, after chatting about our year, allowed the kids to pick a sample each & one for school. 96% of the worlds opal is from Australia.
Australia's biggest deck chair!
Cubby house at the camp site...
The kids didn't know but Uncle Rees & Aunty Sarah were about to arrive in Winton...at the Musical Fence. We distracted them playing around with all the different "instruments" until we saw the bus coming. Uncle Rees had already warned the guests that we would be waiting. He let out an enormous honk of the horn. When the kids realised they screamed & jumped up & down & chased the bus. It was soooo cute.
After a 10 minute chat they headed to drop off their guest. I had the girls in the shower when poppy yells out "Rees is picking us up for a town tour on the bus".
This photo is taken at Arno's wall in Winton. He has all sorts of things in this wall, even his wife's ashes. Apparently he's a kooky old opal miner.
Sarah & Rees have a single bed in their room so Tenae has gone for a sleepover. I said load her up with shampoo & conditioner because we are POOR!!!!
