Roger

So, a new engine for a Toyota Land Cruiser...$20,000. Today is the first day we've felt like quitting. We're absolutely gutted! We have no words.

My advice to EVERYONE! Never buy an ex mine car. They flog the guts out of them & then sell them on to people who know no better to deal with the damage caused by their neglect. I do, however, believe in karma.

The engine arrives in Perth on Tuesday. It looks like we'll be here until the end of next week at least. We've found a much more affordable van park & when we told them what's happened, they only charged us for two children. There are some awesome people in the world. We phoned Blake at Mandurah Toyota & he was lovely. That's where we replaced the turbo! He was devastated for us :-(

If it wasn't for mum & dad we'd be stuffed. I honestly think we'd be done! I can't believe at 41 I'm borrowing money from my parents.

I want the world to know how special Noel & cate Hughes are. They are always there for support, both emotionally & financially. They are not only parents, but I count them as friends. Some people would think travelling with your parents would be tough. Michael & I disagree. We, especially the kids, are having the trip of a lifetime, and they get to share it with mum & dad. There are a lot of parents who could learn from their love & dedication to their family. They are always there, not just for the good times, but the bad as well. From the bottom of my heart...thanks to two very special people. We love you with all our hearts xxx
